The UK Tier-1 Centre

The centre provides large-scale computing facilities for UK Particle Physics experiments. In May 2007 these consisted of approximately:

• 1300 CPUs running Linux
• 900TB of available disk space
• Tape storage using a Sun robot system (total capacity up to 5 PB)

How to get started

To register as a user of the Tier-1 Centre please send a mail message to Tier-1 Resource Management with the following details:

• Your name and preferred e-mail address
• Home University or Institution
• Full address and telephone number (direct line or with extension number)
• Preferred userid
• Preferred login shell
• Experiment
