The UK Tier-1/A Centre

The centre provides large-scale computing facilities for UK Particle Physics experiments. In January 2005 these consisted of approximately:

  • 1000 Intel CPUs (1.4Ghz-2.8GHz) running Linux
  • 140TB of available disk space
  • Tape storage using a StorageTek robot system (total capacity up to 1.2 PB)

Views of some of the newer resources can be seen here.

How to get started
