The UK Tier-1/A Centre
The centre provides large-scale computing facilities for UK Particle Physics experiments. In February 2004 these consisted of approximately:
- 700 Intel CPUs (450Mhz-2.6GHz) running Linux (of these, 46 are exclusive to the CDF experiment) plus 4 Sun CPUs running Solaris
- 80TB of available disk space
- 60TB Tape in use (theoretical tape capacity up to 1 PB)
Views of some of the newer resources can be seen here.
