How to get to GridPP4
GridPP4 is organised jointly by The University of Manchester's High Energy Particle Physics Dept and the regional eScience centre, eScience North West. The two day meeting will take place at The Manchester Business School.
By Train
Manchester Oxford Road is the closest station to the University with a 10 minute walk to the campus (along Oxford Road). From Manchester Piccadilly there's a 30 minute walk to campus or a 5 minute walk to the bus station. There is a large taxi rank (now at the lower exit of Piccadilly Station).
- From South. M56, A5103 Princess Road (a continuation of the dual carriage way when M56 slips off at junction 3). Turn right immediately before the large brewery on the right onto Moss Lane East. Continue until you reach the Jaguar showroom. Turn left onto Oxford Road. Drive through the main campus and pass under the University Precinct building then turn right onto Booth Street East. The University's car park in on the right at the next set of traffic lights.
- From North. Leave M6 onto M61. At J1 Join M60 anti-clockwise. At J12 Take M602. Continue as M602 turns into A57 then A57(M). Once on the Fly-over take the first exit (very sharp left). Follow road 270 degrees to the left and join the A34 (Brook Street). The University's multi-story car park on the right after approximately 500 yards.
- From West. M62 to M60 to M602 then the same as from North.
- From East. M62 to M60 to M602 then as from North.
By Air
Fly to Manchester Airport. Use the overhead walkways to get to the train station where trains to Manchester Piccadilly and Manchester Oxford Road run regularly (see By Train above)
