We present the SAMGrid project, formerly known as the d0-grid project. 
It is fueled by the US funding through the PPDG collaboration and 
proceeds in close cooperation with the GridPP efforts for D0. The 
mission of our project is to enable truly globally distributed computing 
for D0 (and CDF), by means of augmenting the SAM data handling system 
with grid services for job and information management. The classes of 
user jobs are analysis, reconstruction and Monte-Carlo, with Monte-Carlo 
being the key area of interaction with GridPP. We present the general 
architecture of SAMGrid, highlight the design decisions that enable MC 
on the grid, and describe our first successes running MC jobs on the 
grid. Through continued cooperation of SAMGrid with GridPP, we plan to 
further facilitate grid computing of UK physicists and beyond.
